For a 2D frame like this,
Degree of static indeterminacy,Ds = External indeterminacy(Dse) + Internal indeterminacy(Dsi)
Dse = Re – 3
Dsi = 3C – Rr
Where, Re = Total no.of External reaction = 4 * 3 = 12
C = Total no.of closed loops = 2
Rr = Internal hinge contribution = Summation of (No.of connecting members meeting at hinge – 1) = 2 – 1 = 1
Therefore, 4*3-3 + 3(2)-1= 14
Answer is (B) = 14
